County extension agent report photographs, 1915-1957.

These photographs document the activities of the Extension Service in Utah from 1914 to 1957. Photographs were separated from the textual narrative reports, and copies were put in their places. The collection is comprised of approx. 6095 (excluding dups.) black and white silver gelatin prints, 8" x 10" or smaller. The photographs document two basic functions of the Extension Service: Agriculture and Home demonstration. Agriculture images include subjects of animal husbandry, crop production, pest control, range stewardship, irrigation, silage storage and use, animal showing, home gardening, etc. Home economy images include subjects of food preparation, canning, health and diet, sewing, upholstering, posture, handicrafts, etc. Additionally, the Farm Bureau developed the 4-H Club for children, who were encouraged to complete projects in agriculture and home economy.
